Pray for Haiti

Gang violence deaths surge in 2024

Situation “cataclysmic”

American guns fuel Haiti crisis

Powerful gang leader demands role in Haiti peace talks

Targeted by gangs, Haiti’s doctors and nurses have been fleeing

“It’s a siege, it’s  a war”

More than 53,000 flee the capital in less than three weeks

These are just the headlines which are heartbreaking to read. But reading the articles, getting the details is gut-wrenching. It is a dire situation, demanding fervent prayer by God’s people. God is the only hope Haiti has. And our God is the God of Hope. Pastor Daniel says, “We count on God. May He be with us and all the other bereaved families.”

Temporary Food Support Program

One of the most vital ministries Vine Church is involved in right now is providing supplemental grants to members and those in need to increase food security. These small grants of cash are critical in the lives of those receiving them. To date, we have received $15,360 toward our $24,000 goal for this year. Each month we send $2,000 for the food program. Pastor Daniel sent this testimony: Rilienne Vilsaint and her family have been faithful members of the Vine Church for more than 10 years. When I handed her the envelope, she lifted up her hand hands toward heaven and said: "Praise the Lord who is so faithful to His children! I don't have any food left at home. And my family was about to starve. When I get home, first thing: I will call my husband and the kids to thank God in prayer for such a miracle. For I did not know what I was going to do to feed my family tomorrow. But God knew. Thank you so much, Pastor. Please, let the donors know how grateful I am."

Seed and Fertilizer Program

Last month Vine Ministry was able to send $6,000 to several satellite churches (five churches were given $1,200 each) for the purchase of seeds and fertilizer. Pastor Daniel reports: “Let me tell you agriculture is the main economic activity for most of our satellite church members. Since the Haitian government has stopped subsidizing those important items for Haitian farmers, the prices have risen a great deal in a country like Haiti. The local Pastors will distribute the seed and fertilizer based on each member’s need.”

We are grateful for the gifts which made this ministry possible. Below are some photos of some of the satellite churches when Pastor Daniel was conducting a teaching ministry.

Coming Soon
Next month we will have several videos available on the work of Vine Ministry and Vine Church. These will be made available to all churches for use in worship, Sunday School, Mission meetings, etc. They will also be posted on Facebook and are available to anyone who wants them. There will be 4 or 5 videos lifting up various ministries. They will be 2 ½ - 3 minutes in length and will include both Pastor Daniel and myself sharing. More information will be in the May newsletter.

Church Visits
I am available to visit churches for worship, Sunday School, mission days, etc. Please contact me by any of the means below. I would love to come and share with you at no cost. We just ask that a free will love offering be taken (if that is your tradition).

In Christ,
Greg
